Comscore recently made known a study thoughtfully left more than a fan of Android, as the user base of Apple iOS doubles in quantity to that of Android in the U.S. market. With dozens of studies discussing the growth of Android smartphone operating system, this study-conducted by one of the most serious research firms, throws a bucket of cold water over the heads of more than one.
The difference in this study is that considered smart phones and tablets in the same boat, mobile devices, unlike other studies that were limited to a segment, or cell or tablets. And a lot of sense to make a measurement as well as the tremendous growth of mobile devices, the convergence of mobile operating systems and tablets, and the widespread belief that these devices replace each other in much-in fact almost all the tablets support phone lines, video and more.
The study notes that there are 37.0 million users in the U.S. iOS-owners of iPhones and iPods Touch-iPads representing over 59% market share of Android, which is comprised of 23.8 million users. These figures represent a total market-full mobility of US-16.2% and 10.2% for IO and Android respectively.
With these numbers up here, and if I were a developer of applications in order to be successful in the U.S. market, would incline me immediately by Apple, but Android choose, know that I have a good market that is growing. Surely the Apple store, and better organization of Android Market, will be a key point to be considered by developers when deciding on which platform to develop.
